E-commerce websites place cookies on visitors’ browsers to retain login credentials and identify customers. Why do sites use cookies? A Web server has no memory so the hosted Web site you are visiting transfers a “cookie” file of the browser on your computer’s hard disk so the Website can remember who and what your preferences are. If you disable cookies on your browser – some of the website’s features may not work for you – such as access to a purchased class – which relies on being able to identify you with your purchase.
